English below (just look for the blue text),

Buenas,

Estoy feliz: hoy "me he ganado el pan"...

----------------- English Version ------------------

Hi,

Yesterday I posted something I had "on hold" because I was really tired, but today, with much more energy, I'll tell you what is going through my life and my impressions about it...

Firstly, I am completely installed in my new home. I brought up everything, I put everything in the closets, bought some food and I'm now living with the cat (We're getting along very well as it seems the cat understands me: I say "Go there" and then where the cat goes. It's really smart).

Secondly, the bed is huge and, above all, since I do not have a window, but a "gigant window" (the window is the entire wall actually) in the evening I have the most spectacular sight I have seen in a long time...

I call it "Blade Runner" because it is a precious techno-industrial landscape: Highway on the left, office buildings with lights at the end, a portion of the park that surrounds the building and a fantastic silence... At night, when I get in bed, it's like putting a screen saver on the wall... I love the view that I have (let's see if I find batteries and take some pictures).

Today has been a "perfect" day: at 9 am Mr. Hopkins called me on the phone and I have been talking to him (yesterday I had some issues with the Wireless connection but in the end I was able to fix it) ...

There is nothing like waking up with the voice of a good friend who calls you from so far: thanks for the call Mister :-))

After that, I have been watching House's last chapter (11: You'll love it once you watch it too... I ended up laughing in tears as there were a couple of "priceless" moments and an ending that will surprise you) ...

At 12:50 I left the flat towards the tram and 1:30 I reached Centraal Station to take a train to go "a little bit far" (go, I came to my destination at 3 in the afternoon) ...

As I was reaching my destination I see a very well known football stadium and, just when the train was about to enter the station, I saw "the sign of the beast" ...

MediaMarkt...

In an unconcious move I saw how my hand grabs took the wallet to take the battle position ( "VISA in Mouth" Mode), but I finally was able to control my consumer technology impulses...

I missed the bus stop: there's a tracking system for the Dutch public transportation network (an Internet service called 9292OV) that gave me the name of a stop who didn't exist so I passed around 2 stops before realizing it...

So, suddenly, very near of Breda, Dutch people could see again Spanish running like a madman through the streets cursing in my beautiful language...

At last, belated and sweated, I reached the place where I had do my interview. The guy was English, young and very nice and we started the interview talking about my life and the things that I have done and so on...

The guy likes my story: we are on track...

At one point he tells me that in fact my profile is not too appropriate for the role I was applying for and, actually, where was another position I would fit better in...

Then I expected the worst: I began thinking that, again, the same thing happens, too much experience, too little time and very young, and I thought he was being polite to say "good-bye"...

But I was wrong: he began to explain me a VERY COOL position... I can not hide my enthusiasm and he even finished drawing on a blackboard the interactions between parties within the company (he draw the company's structure and I draw the interactions of the position with the structure) ...

"I want it!" I think to myself: I have seen clear... This is what I want: the guy explained it very clear (he's English) and I do a lot of questions...

Every question I make increases the feel that, indeed, the position should be mine at any cost. It is "THE POSITION" ...

The guy is not specifically looking for a professional profile: is looking for a type of person, someone with experience in multinationals, international experience and who knows how to deal with the challenges the role have. I explain him what I have done in my life and he loves it (and curiously "my past" have things he really like ... At the end I am going to capitalize my "special skills ")...

Everything ends an hour later with me laughing when he says (I quote): "I am sorry but I have kick you out because I have a conference call" ... I was Unable to stop laughing and the guy also laughed with me...

Good feelings, nice click: we are on track ...

Next week I will have another interview with more people from the company (coming from different departments as I was explained). Everything went well and it has been fantastic ... I am very happy :-))

One of the things that I am rediscovering here (after a while in my beloved country) is that I have to believe in my potential: Dude, I am very good! In Spain, the rare occasions that I went to an interview things were really wrong (leaving an interview thinking that the interviewer is directly an idiot is not a good sign) but here they appreciate my experience, they appreciate my knowledge, my languages, my personal background and, above all, the people with whom I have interviews show at least they have a very clear concept on the things they want and also show respect for your academic and professional profile, whatever it is (and this is appreciated).

But the point is that, interview after interview, I do it better: the more complicated they are, the more things I can able to reply... I must now run the last mile to reach the finish line but, whatever happens, I will have done my best and that feeling it's great...

I am happy today, "I have earned the bread"... My job is to find a job and today I have seen what I want...

That's it: take care and, of course, Amsterdam prevails! :-))
